Thank you for your support on the F class project. All locomotives are now sold out. We are currently taking order for our new locomotive, the X Class, expected for delivery in Q4 2012
The Victorian Railways imported the ‘F-Class’ from the UK in the early 1950’s and during a service life that lasted until the early 1980’s they were used in shunting service around Melbourne but were also used at Geelong, Seymour, Wodonga and Bendigo.
These distinctive locomotives were delivered in a black livery before being painted in VR’s red with a yellow stripe starting in 1955 and then VR’s familiar blue and yellow starting in 1964. Towards the end of its working career F211 was painted in V/Line orange/grey
There were 16 units in the Class and several are preserved.
TrainBuilder will be offering the ‘F-Class’ factory-painted in these four liveries and in a variety of road numbers.
